EPA air-monitoring not providing sufficient protection

A continuum of incidents is occurring nationwide where chemicals are released within a community and EPA air-monitoring declares the air is safe when in fact it is not. Currently the EPA utilizes contractors in conducting real-time air monitoring. This is where the problem arises as real time air monitoring is not sufficient. In addition to real-time air monitoring, comprehensive analytical air monitoring is required in the collection of samples for laboratory analysis utilizing gas chromatography and mass spectroscopy GC/MS techniques.
