State Agencies

Environmental Epidemiology & Disease Registries Section

Run by the Texas Department of State Health Services, the mission of the Environmental Epidemiology and Disease Registries Section is to protect and promote the health of Texans. This is accomplished through the operation of disease and injury registries; and public health surveillance, field investigations, health assessments, and epidemiologic studies. These activities assist us in identifying Texans at increased health risk, understanding the causes of and preventing disease and injury.

Texas Division of Emergency Management

The  Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) coordinates the state emergency  management program, which is intended to ensure the state and its local  governments respond to and recover from emergencies and disasters, and  implement plans and programs to help prevent or lessen the impact of  emergencies and disasters.
